Chapter 2

 BASIC COMPUTER ORGANIZATION

1.INPUTUNIT

Data and instructions must enter a computer system before the computer can perform any computation on the supplied data.Data and instructions enter a computer through an input unit in a form tha depends upon the input device used.

✍️.It accept (or reads) introduction and data from outside world

However, a computer's memory is designed to accept input in binary code and hence, all input devices must transform input signal to binary codes. Units called input interface accomplish this transformation. Input interface match the unique physical or electronic characteristics of input devices to the requirements of a computer system

✍️.It accept (or reads) introduction and data from outside world.

✍️.It converts these introduction and data in computer acceptable form.

✍️.It supplies the converted introduction and data to computer system for further processing.

✍️.It accept (or reads) introduction and data from outside world

2.OUTPUT

An outputting unit performs the reverse operation officer that of input unith. It supplied information optained have from data processing to outside world. Therefore, before supplying the results to outside world,

✍️.It accept (or reads) introduction and data from outside world

✍️.It accept the results produced by a computer, which are in coded from and hence, we cannot easily understand them.

✍️.It supplies the converted results to outside world.

                          QUESTIONS

1.Draw a block diagram to illustrate the basic optimization of a computer system and explain the function of the various unuts?

2.What is an input interface? How it differs from an output interface?

3.How many types of storage are normally there in the storage unit of computer system? Justify the need for each storage type?
